The San Jose Earthquakes return to California this week, wrapping up a whirlwind training tour of London, England. The Western Conference side based the majority of their training at Spurs Lodge in Chigwell, the training grounds for partner club Tottenham Hotspur. The team also undertook a handful of successful scrimmages where they defeated the likes of Spurs, West Ham and MLS foes Colorado Rapids.
For the team it’s been a chance to experience another level of soccer and further relationships. “It’s a great opportunity for the team to see a higher level as far as organizations go”, says San Jose GM John Doyle. “The partnership we have here with Tottenham has really opened their arms up to us.”
