Chicago Fire Team of the Decade

Fire

BY SHAWN FRANCIS

Throughout their 12-year history, the Chicago Fire have carried their share of Major League Soccer’s marquee names. From Lubos Kubik to Carlos Bocanegra to Brian McBride, the Fire have always played host to some of the greatest players to collect a check on the shores. But who’s the best of the Windy City bunch? Are they just the big names or is their room for the unsung guys like Jesse Marsch and Logan Puase?

ESPN Chicago put together it’s own “Team of the Decade” in the form of a photo gallery and it’s sure to spark a bit of debate amongst Fire fanatics for both it’s glaring omissions and it’s surprising inclusions. See who they picked here and join the debate in the comments below. As for my thoughts on the list, I have only one: where is Peter Nowak?

  1. I would have put Nowak in for Pause. I love Pause, but he wasn’t as big as an impact player as Nowak was. But the rest of the team is great (except for Blanco, nobody in Chicago actually likes Blanco).

  2. What the hell is up with. Kubic, klopas, nowak? Pause I like him but not to put him the list. Wolff I will have to think about really hard. As for the list for the exception of some players they got it right! And sorry blanco does belong
