MLS Cup 2009: Post-Playoff Playlist

So here we are, all set and ready for MLS Cup 2009: we’ve got our teams (the upstart Real Salt Lake vs. Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy), we’ve got our tickets and we’ve got 6 days to predict, plan, pack and –crucially– put together a few playlists. Don’t laugh at the last one because you know I’m right; every good road trip needs a few good playlists (or mix CD’s if you want party like it’s 1999) to dictate the vibe. I’m sure it’s a lost commandment or at the very least a missing amendment to the constitution.

Not that anyone asked but because I’ve always been really good at sharing, I’ve started putting together a few selections of choice cuts to keep the desktop rocking this week. This one rides a fine yet diverse line between rock & rhythm with a dash of dance floor sweatiness thrown in: think Diplo, Kings of Leon, The Neptunes, Franz Ferdinand, Marlena Shaw, Phoenix & almost inexplicably (even to me, and I put this together) Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.
